Social listening is tracking analyzing and responding to conversations individuals are having about your brand or product. The goal here is to use the information they are talking about to better a certain product or overall brand sentiment. This takes two steps. The first is to monitor social platforms using hashtags, ats and keywords. The second step is to analyze the information that has been found and have a conversation with your customers about it. These conversations can happen by tagging individuals, making a broad statement or adjusting your brand or product.
Social listening is important because it helps you to engage with your customers. This can be responding to questions, concerns and compliments by replying to tweets and comments or by making a public post about something you are seeing a lot of information about. It also helps companies managing crisis. It gives you the possibility to respond quickly to immediate concern individuals have. Furthermore, this process allows you the ability to track competitors, find pain points, discover new sales leads and identify influencers and advocates. All of these factors make it easier to stay ahead of your competitors, please your customers, and quickly solve customer problems. Social listening is all about figuring out how people feel about your brand or product, what your overall sentiment is and why.
I did my research on the company called Shewee. This is a company that makes products to ease the difficulty women have relieving themselves outside. Some keywords I would monitor would be camping, weeing, outdoor toilet, pee funnel, and urination device.
